We have been talking for months about the Swedish House Mafia reunion tour. It finally kicked off earlier this month in the trio's hometown of Stockholm, Sweden. So far, the global superstars have given fans exactly what they asked for and more. Mexico City was the next stop to be graced by Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso, and Axwell. The open-air arena Foro Sol was quaking as fans sang their heart out to tracks like "Don't You Worry Child," "Save The World Tonight" and more.
The jaw-dropping production and setlist followed a similar format to their homecoming shows in Stockholm. Where they did diverge was in intensity. They changed up the synths on some of their classic songs keeping things interesting. Included in the performance were some unreleased tracks like "Underneath It All." We don't have any word when these tracks will come out but one can hope soon.
One dedicated fan opted to record the entire set, capping in at almost two hours. The arm strength needed for that is seriously impressive.
Swedish House Mafia was on a five-year hiatus until their massiveck at Ultra Music Festival in 2018. What followed was a slew of cryptic messages revealing the trio would be heading out on a reunion tour for the masses. Now that the tour is underway, we can all breath a sigh of relief knowing one of the most beloved acts in electronic music is back and hopefully here to stay.
The next leg of Swedish House Mafia's tour lands them in Ultra Korea, where the trio is set to close out the three-day festival. Following that will be performances in Helsinki and Ibiza.
