Ezekiel Elliott did not go to jail because the security guard he shoved did not want to press charges.
An NFL player was involved in a bizarre incident during the 2019 edition of EDC Las Vegas. Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott was captured on video shoving a member of the security staff working the festival - but in a strange turn of events, the same guard prevented him from spending the night in jail.
In footage obtained by TMZ, Elliott is seen behaving erratically towards a woman and then pushing a security guard who approaches him, knocking over metal barrier in the process. According to the Las Vegas Metro Police Department (who said that their officers witnessed the incident and then handcuffed him), Elliott was later released when the guard decided not to press charges against him.
Frank Salzano, the attorney representing Elliott, told TMZ that the woman in the clips was his girlfriend, and security overreacted to what was an ordinary discussion. Elliott was previously suspended from the NFL for 2016 allegations of violence against his former girlfriend in Columbus, Ohio although he was not found guilty in a court of law. After a series of appeals, he was allowed to play again towards the end of 2017.
It remains to be seen whether the NFL will penalize Ezekiel Elliott for violations of their personal conduct policy in connection to the EDC Las Vegas 2019 altercation.
